Queensland’s 16 hospital and health service boards oversee the quality and safety of hospital and health services. They are required to have safety and quality committees. Hospital and health service boards and safety and quality committees have several duties and legislative functions under the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 and the Hospital and Health Boards Regulation 2023. Key obligations relate to safety and quality governance arrangements, strategies, improvements, monitoring, workplace culture, and collaboration.
